Description
Detail of woman’s dress or house dress in multi-coloured jacquard woven wool re-used from two imitation Kashmiri shawls. Standing collar in green silk velvet. Princessline body with vertically pleated panel front edged with fringed shawl borders concealing fastening with fifteen metal hook and eye. Sleeves, full- length, with puffed shoulders tapering to fitted wrist with turned-back cuffs faced in green silk velvet. Half-belt in green silk velvet. Skirt, full-length, with double box pleat at centre back shoulders falling away detached from centre back, rejoining skirt and flowing into slight train. Labelled ‘Miss Martin Aliwal Villa, Uddingston’.
